We ask you questions about your partner/husband/wife, the children, the debts and the assets of the marriage. We prepare to protect and strengthen your position until a settlement is reached. Legal Consultant in Art Law
In the past few years the art market has expanded exponentially throughout the world. Artists and art enthusiasts are no longer largely confined to regional markets; a painter in Korea can sell a painting without leaving his studio to a buyer in Texas. Ethos about cultural property have changed as well, making it harder to legally acquire and import antiquities for individual buyers and museums alike. The global nature of the art market means that artists, buyers, dealers, gallerists and auction houses need to be particularly savvy. Recent changes to money laundering legislation have complicated the art market in Europe and the UK.
Art law is not a separate field of law, but one that encompasses a variety of practices including but not limited to contract, criminal, intellectual property, tax, insurance, estate planning and personal property law. It is essential that all participants in the art market have sound legal advice to ensure that their interests are protected, whether an artist, buyer or an art market professional.
